Carrie reveals hospital flu battle

CARRIE Johnson says she is battling to get back to health after nearly a week in hospital fighting flu and pneumonia.

The wife of former Tory Prime Minister Boris Johnson said she was struggling to breathe and had still not recovered from the nearly monthlong illness.

The mum-of-three, 36, added that it could be a few more weeks before she felt like herself again.

She told her Instagram followers: "I didn't expect to spend the first week of 2025 in hospital.

"After having a nasty chest infection for nearly 18 days at home over Christmas, it just got out of hand and I was struggling to breathe properly." She was admitted to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, where doctors confirmed she had flu and pneumonia.
