Biden to meet King before Nato mission

PRESIDENT Joe Biden will meet King Charles at Windsor Castle tomorrow, after missing the Coronation in May.

The US leader, who arrives in the UK this evening, will also be welcomed by Rishi Sunak tomorrow, ahead of a Nato summit on Tuesday in Lithuania, where countering the threat from Russia will top the agenda.

More than 500 days after Vladimir Putin’s troops invaded Ukraine, the summit will focus on how to “protect the entire Euro-Atlantic region”.

The meeting between Mr Biden, 80, and Mr Sunak, 43, follows their previous discussions in San Diego, Belfast, Hiroshima and Washington DC.

A priority for Mr Sunak is “intensifying and codifying” the defensive partnership with Ukraine.

He said: “As we face unprecedented challenges to our physical and economic security, our alliances are more important than ever.
