City centre hotel will knockdown restaurant

A city centre hotel is to knock down its restaurant building to make way for more guest accommodation.

Stirling’s Central Premier Inn also plans to make a planned new eatery a guest-only facility.

Stirling Council planners have conditionally approved an application by Premier Inn Hotels Ltd to demolish the existing restaurant section of the premises at Forthside Way and replace it with the new three-storey block with a ground floor restaurant and link corridor to the remaining hotel building.

The development also includes increased car parking spaces, landscaping and fencing.

In their decision, the planners said: “The applicant confirmed that the restaurant will only be open to hotel residents.
