The river enters Erode district at Nerinjipettai and flows through Ammapettai, Bhavani, Erode city and Kodumudi. A NDRF team is stationed in Bhavani and a SDRF team is camping at Erode city.

With the discharge from Mettur dam into Cauvery river being one lakh cusecs as on Monday (July 28, 2025), floodwaters have entered several low-lying residential areas within the Bhavani municipal limits. Officials are closely monitoring the situation and continue to issue advisories, maintaining round-the-clock vigilance.
