Victoria lay down title marker as closest rivals suffer a surprise reverse

VICTORIA Saints continued their march towards the division one title in the Swansea Fish Bowling League with another victory.

The league leaders were away to near neighbours Swansea BC at Bryn Road, and the team at the top maintained their good form with a 67-50 success. They took the points 9-3.

Top rink for the visitors was Mike Mapstone, Chris Higgins, Damian Devois and skip Mark Dunbar, who defeated the rink skipped by Greg Waters 27-15.

Other rink scores: John Bryant 18-24 John Higgins, Steve Adams 17-16 Kai Higgins.

Struggling Waunarlwydd faced a tough match when they hosted second-placed Dunvant Druids, but they produced the result of the day by defeating their opponents 56-50 to take the points 8-4.

Top rink for Waunarlwydd was skip Keith Hunter, Brian Davies, Malcolm Arnal and Roger Edwards who defeated Paul Rees 20-13.

Other rink scores: Graham Cooper 17-18 Rob Richards, Bob Eaton 19-19 Andrew Jones.

Bonymaen, who bounced back to winning ways in their previous match, were at home to Jersey. But Bony's title hopes were dealt another setback in a competitive as the away team were victorious 60-55. Jersey took the points 9-3.
