FORMER LIVERPOOL COACH HAS EURÍM RELEASE CLAUSE AT MARITIMO

- GLEN WILLIAMS Football Writer glen.williams@walesonline.co.uk

SWANSEA City's search for a new head coach has taken another twist after fresh reports in Portugal claimed the club will have to pay EUR1 million to land leading candidate Vitor Matos.

The Swans spent several days last week attempting to secure Hammarby boss Kim Hellberg, who even travelled to London for talks with Swansea and other interested clubs.

But earlier this week, Middlesbrough moved ahead of the Swans in the race, forcing Swansea to pivot and look for alternative options.
