Man sold drugs to make 'easy money'
South Wales Evening Post
|November 07, 2025
A MAN who thought selling cocaine was “easy money” has been sentenced to 32 months in prison.
Phillip Robinson was caught after officers in an unmarked car came across a Land Rover in the middle of Swansea which had so-called “markers” attached to in on police intelligence databases and decided to follow it.
Swansea Crown Court heard that when the 4x4 stopped and officers approached the driver they found it was the 51-year-old defendant - a man with no fewer than 22 previous convictions for driving while disqualified.
Sending Robinson down, the judge told him that the reason the courts took a strict view of Class A drug supply was because such drugs ruined the lives of addicts and their families, and had a “devastating impact” on the communities where addicts lived and where they committed acquisitive crimes to fund their habits.
Dean Pulling, prosecuting, told the court that on May 12 this year police officers in an unmarked car in Dyfatty Street, Swansea city centre, saw the silver Land Rover and followed.
The officers tailed the 4x4 along Carmarthen Road to Cwmbwrla roundabout and from there onto Middle Road in Gendros where the vehicle stopped.
Officers pulled their car in front of the Land Rover and approached the driver, Robinson.
