Lightbulb moment is great story

DO love to read. Over the years my reading material has varied in genres from theological books to autobiographies and of course fiction.

My most recent read was a little different!

For a start its title was Lush. It’s full title Lush! My Story, by Joanna Page, the autobiography of the Gavin & Stacey star that tells her story from growing up in Swansea to her very successful acting career.

It quickly became a Sunday Times bestseller.

Joanna grew up in Treboeth which is very close to Plasmarl where I grew up, with both communities making a claim that Parc Llewellyn is their local park.

Despite our “Swansea Jack” connection we don’t know each other.

I do have a faint memory that she came with her family to a St David's Day dinner show that I did in the Dragon Hotel some years ago but other than that our paths have never crossed.

However, it was lovely to read the book as Joanna talked about places that were so familiar such as St Albans Church in Treboeth and other Swansea places.

By the time I'd finished the book I felt that I knew Joanna really well - it's an excellent read.

We love reading books for a variety of reasons, including the ability to escape, reduce stress, and stimulate the mind by learning new things, building knowledge and improving our vocabulary.
