Heatwave for Wales as temperatures could hit 30C

WALES is expected to experience a heatwave this week with temperatures hitting 30C in some areas.

Thursday is expected to be the hottest day with Monmouth among the places most likely to see the highest readings, according to weather maps.

Elsewhere, the hottest temperatures are expected to rise to around 27°C, particularly in Cardiff, Newtown and Wrexham, forecasters say.

However, Swansea's likely to be cooler than inland areas, with 18°C and partly cloudy skies todaybut conditions will then improve, with sunny weather and a high of 20°C expected tomorrow.
