Bus strikes set to be extended until Christmas

BUS drivers and First Cymru workers have “significantly escalated” strikes by extending them over the Christmas period.
Staff are demanding a pay award of £15 per hour to bring them in line with Cardiff Bus and Arriva in North Wales.
It is affecting services in Carmarthenshire, Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Bridgend, Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan.
The second period of strike action concluded on Saturday, November 8 inclusive, following an earlier spell between October 30 and November 2.
There had been plans for a strike between October 22 to October 25, but this was called off as workers were balloted on a new offer which was rejected.
