A call to Arms revamp with £1.8m investment

WEDDINGS AND FUNCTION BOOKINGS INCREASED FIVE-FOLD OVER THE PAST YEAR
AN announcement has been made of an almost £2m investment to bring one of Lincolnshire’s most iconic hotels up to date.
North Kesteven District Council is poised to invest £1.8m to modernise and refurbish The Carre Arms in Sleaford, the hotel south of the railway line that it bought in 2024.
The large hotel in Mareham Lane is the property of the Council, and it has a garden, a terrace, free private parking and a restaurant.
Physically the Carre Arms is only 110m from the centre of the level crossing, and 230m from Platform 1. It is undoubtedly a ‘station hotel’ but it is also a sought after venue for weddings.
Funded through business profits, a programme scheduled over the next 18 months to two years will - within the next couple of weeks - begin with works to provide new bedrooms, access, roofs, and reception plus anticipated improvements to the external frontage.
Seeking to respect the past and embrace the future, this comes on the back of several changes and improvements made over the past year by the management company, mostly related to the operations and the ‘behind the scenes’ processes.
