A boy (MK) and a Kung Fu master (Sunny) seek enlightenment, as they go on a journey of self-discovery in a feudal post-apocalyptic United States.

Take a trip into post-apocalyptic nightmare of Into The Badlands

The action drama Into The Badlands - now showing as a boxset on ITVX - follows the duos precarious odyssey against the backdrop of a land ruled by feuding lords known as barons (sort of plantation owners), who each control a designated part of the country.

The baron focused on in this series is Quinn (Marton Csokas), who grows opium poppies as a source of income, and two of his highly trained warriors known as Clippers - forbidden from marrying and having children - who maintain the baron's law and order.

At the bottom of the tree are slaves who work the fields and marauding lawless gangs of “nomads”.

Remnants and fragments of technology, such as electricity have been held onto, but in this futuristic world firearms are shunned and arms such as swords and crossbows are weapons of choice.

In the series, the Badlands encompasses several states between the Rocky Mountains and the Mississippi River.

Another main player in this dynamic is the River King, who controls water trade and is considered a neutral party in the barons' power struggles.
