You can shell out hundreds of pounds for luxury sweet treats from exclusive makers and stores - or head to the supermarket and pick up a cut-price selection. Better yet, make up your own mix

Christmas and chocolates go together like tinsel and trees, snow and robins.

From Quality Street to Celebrations, everyone has a favourite and here is what the sweet treats could cost you.

Tubs of chocolates

For the best value Christmas chocolates focus on major supermarket deals for tubs like Quality Street, Celebrations, Roses and Heroes.

Membership cards, Tesco Clubcard, Nectar, cut prices significantly to often under £4 to £5.

Discounters like Aldi and Lidl offer great prices without cards and smaller treats like Mars Fudge or M&S's budget tins provide excellent festive value.

Supermarket Tubs (Best Value for Volume):

Tesco/Sainsbury's: Look for £7 tubs of Quality Street, Celebrations, Roses or Heroes dropping to £3.95 to £4.50 with Clubcard/Nectar.

Aldi/Lidl: Offer fantastic base prices for tubs, often under £4.50 without loyalty cards. Aldi is offering Quality Street at £4.39 for 550g and Heroes at £4.89.
