Pass me my sonic screwdriver – we have the Sea Devils to defeat
Shields Gazette

Ever since its reboot 20 years ago, Doctor Who has been held in a woke chokehold that sent those of us brought up on the Daleks' death ray and cry of "Exterminate" screaming in despair and running for cover behind the settee.
The sci-fi drama's latest spin-off is another humourless, virtue-signalling abomination called The War Between The Land And The Sea - an eco-themed 21st-century take on Doctor Who and the Sea Devils.
One glance at the blurb and so-called monsters - looking every inch like rejects from Avatar - was enough for me.
Thank goodness for BBC 4 which screened - albeit an edited version - the original with Jon Pertwee as the Doctor facing the lizard-like monsters out for revenge on the human race.
Better still, the six-episode adventure has been unleashed on BBC iPlayer.
As with James Bond, fans have a favourite Doctor Who. Mine was his - he will always be male for me, sorry Jodie, third incarnation, Pertwee. I vaguely remember Patrick Troughton who followed William Hartnell, whom I know only through repeats.
I was 10 when Pertwee took on the mantle of the Time Lord and 12 when he battled the Sea Devils.
