Science fiction is one of the most popular book genres and the grandfather of it is, arguably, Isaac Asimov. So inspirational was he that National Science Fiction Day is held on the writer's birthday - January 2. He was born in 1920.
Asimov was responsible for works of science fiction literature, including Nightfall and the Foundation Trilogy. Originally a biochemist, he wrote or edited more than 500 books.
