Bank on Burdett Road at Kempton

Burdett Road may have been flattered to finish second in the Champion Hurdle in March, but he is still one of the best in the division and can show that in the Copybet Hurdle at Kempton tomorrow.

Trained by James Owen, he really enjoyed his first season over timber as a juvenile, winning his first two outings before having the misfortune of bumping into Sir Gino.

Forced to miss the Triumph Hurdle that year, he went onto have quite a productive spell on the Flat, winning a Listed race at Newmarket and he even ran at Ascot on Champions Day when unsurprisingly he proved no match for Kyprios et al.
