Diver dies during yacht recovery operation

WORK to recover the Bayesian superyacht which sank off the coast of Sicily last summer has been paused after a diver died.

The man, believed to be from Dutch firm SMIT Salvage, died during underwater work last Friday and an investigation will look into what happened. The vessel was due to be raised within two weeks.
Sevenoaks couple, Morgan Stanley International bank chairman Jonathan Bloomer, 70, and his wife, Judy Bloomer, 71, were among seven people who died when the 56-metre (184ft) Bayesian sank off the coast of the Italian island on August 19.
