COUNCIL PROVIDED £50,000 THROUGH ITS COMMUNITY GRANT FUND TO SUPPORT IMPROVED FACILITIES AT BRIGG TOWN FC CIC

- By IVAN MORRIS POXTON

THE upgrade of facilities at a sports club in Brigg has been completed.

Players and fans can now benefit from all the improved facilities at Brigg Town FC CIC, which include development of the changing room pavilion and community kitchen, 3G football turf, floodlighting and renovation of the clubhouse.

The upgrade has been supported by cash from North Lincolnshire Council and the Government's UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) scheme along the way.

The council provided £50,000 through its Community Grant fund, and UKSPF awarded £50,000 last year.

The initial council investment helped play a key role in unlocking more than £1m in funding from other sources, the local authority has said.

By acting as match funding, the council's contribution enabled the club to secure further grants and financial support to deliver the project in full.
