Dons starlet's positional transformation explained
ABERDEEN boss Jimmy Thelin has lifted the lid on how rising star Dylan Lobban made his successful conversion from midfielder to right-back.
The 20-year-old has started the team's last three fixtures - against Kilmarnock, where he made his debut, AEK Larnaca in Cyprus and Motherwell on Sunday.
With Lobban helping to solidify the backline, it has coincided with the Dons conceding just one goal in an unbeaten run.
And yesterday he earned recognition for his breakthrough by being named in the Scotland Under-21 squad for the first time for the upcoming Euro qualifying doubleheader against Gibraltar away on Saturday and Bulgaria at Fir Park on Tuesday.
Former Pittodrie assistant Emir Bajrami - who returned to Elfsborg in his native Sweden in January - was the man responsible for Lobban’s positional transformation as he came through the youth ranks.
