DAVID GRAY reflected on encouraging Easter Road results after Hibs’ accomplished 3-1 win over Dundee United put three points of daylight between them and fourth-placed Aberdeen.

Hibs’ loss at Pittodrie a week earlier was their first defeat in 18 Premiership matches but their response in Leith on Saturday was just what their boss ordered.

A fast start brought goals from Martin Boyle and Mykola Kuharevich before substitute Dwight Gayle clinched the win later on after Kristijan Trapanovski reduced the deficit five minutes after half-time.

With just three fixtures left, an eighth successive win at home in all competitions was also a giant step towards a European spot as well as a third-place finish.
