THE family of Virginia Giuffre want US charities to follow British organisations in cutting ties with the Duchess of York over her email to "supreme friend" Jeffrey Epstein.

- By Christopher Bucktin US Editor

Relatives of the woman who claimed Prince Andrew abused her have spoken out after it emerged Sarah Ferguson once sent a grovelling apology to the notorious paedophile.

It comes as it was reported yesterday that the duchess has resigned from the Youth Impact Council, a US-based charity for young people.

Fergie has come under intense pressure after it emerged at the weekend that she described Epstein as a "steadfast, generous and supreme friend" in correspondence sent in 2011 two years after his conviction for procuring a child for prostitution.

Commendable

The duchess wrote to him after she had publicly criticised him despite the financier lending her at least £15,000 during her financial troubles.

The disclosure prompted seven UK charities, including the Teenage Cancer Trust, to end their associations with her on Monday.
