Trans doctor wins ruling to have birth name redacted in gender tribunal case

THE doctor at the centre of a row over a health board’s gender policies will have his birth name redacted in official documents, it has been revealed.

NHS Fife nurse Sandie Peggie has taken the organisation to a tribunal over its stance regarding gender issues. She was suspended after objecting to having to share a female changing room with Dr Beth Upton, a biological male doctor, who identifies as female,

His birth name is Theodore Upton and that was used on the General Medical Council register before he was re-registered under as Beth Upton. His legal team claimed that publishing his birth name would be against his human rights and would out him as a transwoman.
