GREGOR TOWNSEND has laughed off talk he’s about to ditch Scotland - and said there's as much chance of him becoming the next Real Madrid manager.

Townsend, below, has been advising Newcastle Red Bulls as part of a controversial side-hustle with the energy drinks firm.

A weekend report suggested he was moving closer to taking on a full-time role with the Prem club and could even leave Scotland before the start of the Six Nations.

Townsend is under mounting pressure after an Autumn Series that saw the national team suffer late collapses in defeats to New Zealand and Argentina.

The head coach refused to address the speculation about his future but insists he'll be at Murrayfield for the long term.
