Taxpayers fork out £134k for second home for senior cop

TAXPAYERS have forked out £134,000 to help Police Scotland's Chief Constable Jo Farrell buy a second home.

The top cop stills owns her £1million five-bedroom home in Northumberland but has decided to buy a second home in a suburb in Edinburgh for £595,000.

Farrell is paid £270,000 a year and has so far received relocation expenses of £69,901 according to Police Scotland's annual accounts.

The taxpayer-funded Scottish Police Authority, which overseas Police Scotland, paid out additional “tax costs” of £64,525.
