French raider can capture another big pot

LAZZAT (3.35) can plunder another major British sprint trophy for France at Haydock this afternoon.

Ambitious Wathnan Racing found an immediate flagship horse when acquiring the four-year-old before Royal Ascot. First time up in their colours, he captured the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes and was not quite at his best when runner-up in the half-a-furlong-further Prix Maurice de Gheest.

He is drawn in the middle of a maximum field of 17 for the Betfair Sprint Cup and if he brings his best form to the north west, he should be head and shoulders above the rest.
