Starmer’s £3.4billion Chagos giveaway pays for tax cuts in Mauritius

SIR Keir Starmer’s deal to hand over the Chagos Islands to Mauritius will fund tax cuts for its people, their prime minister announced yesterday.
Navin Ramgoolam said £500million will help pay off the African nation's national debt, which stands at 90% of GDP. It means his government can abolish income tax for 81% of employed Mauritians, as well as raise minimum salaries, he added.
