Sports and sherry! Twins' recipe for reaching age 100

TWINS May Davies and June Field celebrated their 100th yesterday with a catch-up over Facetime and no doubt a spot of sherry.

The women, believed to be the nation's oldest identical twins, are “very generous” with a “wicked sense of humour,” according to June’s daughter Jane Douglas.

She also said they’ve reached the magnificent milestone on a diet of sports playing - and sherry.

The sisters, the youngest of six siblings, started their working lives at a school, one as a cook's assistant, the other a maid, before making airplane rivets at a Slough factory during the Second World War.
