SNP Government in U-turn on plans for Loch Lomond resort

It throws the future of the project into major doubt.

The Flamingo Land resort had been given the go-ahead despite thousands of people objecting to the plans.

Operators had promised a monorail, a water park, two hotels and around 100 luxury lodges for the site near Balloch, West Dunbartonshire.

The near-£45million proposals entitled “Lomond Banks” had initially been rejected last year but were then overturned by the Independent Scottish Government Reporter.
