Shoplifter jailed after more than 100 raids at two stores

ONE of London's most prolific shoplifters has been jailed for “brazenly” stealing £16,000 worth of goods.

Mark Stavrou targeted the same supermarket and petrol station more than 100 times over seven months.

The 33-year-old, of Walthamstow, East London, was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court to three years and two months in prison.

He earlier pleaded guilty to 102 shoplifting offences at the Sainsbury's supermarket and Morrisons petrol station in Waltham Forest between January and July this year.

Stavrou also admitted one count of criminal damage, assault and the theft of a bicycle.
