Rothwell ready for key role in Gers revolution

It has been a whirlwind summer for the Ibrox diehards as Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises usher in a new era for the club.

Just 53 days after the contracts were finally rubberstamped on the takeover, there is a new manager, seven new signings and competitive football is back for Rangers.

The 30-year-old was one of four recruits to be thrown straight into the mix against Panathinaikos alongside Max Aarons, Nasser Djiga and goalscorer Djeidi Gassama.

Another winger appears to be on the shopping list after a bid for Crystal Palace forward Jesurun Rak-Sakyi as Martin looks to get his squad ready for a title tilt and bring trophies back to the empty Ibrox cabinet.

But with the wheels still turning on deals behind the scenes, Rothwell knows the vital piece of the puzzle he can fulfil.
