WHILE trends come and go there are some that will never completely disappear, for instance Scandi neutrals, farmhouse kitchens, biophilic lounges incorporating natural materials and — the latest to reemerge —uber-luxury bathrooms.
Freestanding baths are the pinnacle of bathroom luxury, but the latest twist is to combine contemporary shapes with materials as old as time. “Stone baths offer a tactile warmth and durability that brings a sense of grounded luxury, while marble provides refined elegance with its distinctive veining and smooth surface,” says Mike Manders, co-founder and CEO of North Yorkshire-based bathroom company Haddon.
