Robison urged to cut tax with £820m extra off Budget

THE SNP Government was urged to cut taxes in Scotland in its own budget after Rachel Reeves handed over an extra £820million in another Barnett Formula blockbuster.

Scottish Secretary Douglas Alexander said Holyrood ministers now had a colossal £10billion extra to spend on public services, following the £9.1bn already committed by the Treasury.

Responding to the Budget, Guy Hinks, Scotland Chair of the Federation of Small Businesses, called for the two governments to work together on driving economic growth.

He said: "All eyes will be on the Scottish Government's Budget in January and how they invest the extra £820m they are set to receive.
