Simon feeling refreshed after being taken outdaterar line by boss for his own good

- MARK WALKER AT DENS PARK

SIMON MURRAY revealed how being ordered to take a break by Dundee boss Steven Pressley has revitalised his season.

The Dens Park skipper ended a personal goal drought stretching back 18 games by bagging a double inside five minutes as the Dark Blues raced to an early lead.

But they allowed bottom side Livingston to hit back and claim an unlikely point after they conceded two sloppy goals.

For the 33-year-old striker, it was the longest spell he's gone in his career without netting.

Last season Murray bagged 16 goals in 32 league starts in a prolific spell.

But a season of injury troubles left him feeling flat this term.

And after he was sent off just after Christmas against Falkirk, Pressley told his captain to take some time off to take his mind off his struggles in front of goal.

He responded with his first goals since September and Murray believes that break was the best thing to have happened to him.
