RACING LION'S WAITING GAME
Scottish Daily Express
|March 25, 2025
AIDAN O'BRIEN has admitted long-time 2,000 Guineas favourite The Lion In Winter is “a little bit behind” and not certain to run.
Ballydoyle’s leader issued the warning to punters yesterday, with less than six weeks to go until Newmarket’s flat Classic on May 3.
O’Brien said his unbeaten son of Sea The Stars - also the winter Derby market leader — is taking time to reach peak fitness.
“The Lion In Winter went to the Curragh last weekend for some easy work,” he added about York’s track record-holder in the 2024 Acomb Stakes.
