KEMI Badenoch said the West Midlands Chief Constable’s position is untenable after his force admitted Israeli football fans were banned because locals planned an ambush.

Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters were stopped from travelling to Birmingham for a match against Aston Villa in November after police claimed some were violent hooligans.

But in a bombshell report yesterday, the force admitted it actually feared locals - some armed — were plotting to attack Israeli fans.

Tory leader Mrs Badenoch said: “West Midlands Police capitulated to Islamists and then collaborated with them to cover it up.
