Only 9% of all plastic eventually recycled

Researchers who tracked the global supply chain also warned that just 9% of plastic ends up being recycled.

The study by researchers in China and published in the journal Communications Earth and Environment assessed types of plastics and their journey from raw material through to products, and how they are dealt with at the end of their life.
