'Nancy Mitford is fearless'

Actress Bessie Carter tells us about the captivating new drama on the famous author and her siblings

Bessie Carter made her name as scheming Prudence Featherington in Bridgerton. Now, she's centre stage in another period drama as she takes the lead in Outrageous, a story about the scandalous Mitford clan.

Adapted from Mary S Lovell's novel The Mitford Girls, the 1930s-set six-parter sees Bessie play Nancy Mitford - the eldest of seven aristocratic siblings who each clashed in different ways with the values of their time.

"I knew a weird amount about them already," Bessie, 31, says. "I've been strangely connected to Nancy for ages."
