Midsummer's Day heatwave making its way to Scotland

WARM air coming up from Spain and Portugal will deliver a blistering Midsummer's Day heatwave for Scotland by Saturday.

High pressure arriving from the south west will see temperatures climb day-by-day from tomorrow peaking at 29C (84F) by the weekend.

Aiden McGivern of the Met Office said: “High pressure is going to build in from the south, becoming extensive across the UK. By Thursday, that high pressure will migrate east, and that allows - eventually into the weekend - temperatures to rise from the south.”
