EXPECT the unexpected. That was the message from Scotland’s Leah Bartlett as she looked forward to Saturday’s Women’s World Cup Pool B match against Fiji.

The loosehead prop knows the Fijians are one of the most inventive teams in world rugby. But instead of worrying about what the South Sea Islanders might come up with against her team, she is looking forward to confronting them head-on in Salford.

Bartlett, 26, said: “Honestly, I find it exciting. Fiji are skillful, athletic and unpredictable. You can’t always guess what they’re going to do next — and that’s a brilliant challenge.”
