'Kingdom of Kubala' members evicted from camp in Scots wood

Out of the woods... mess left by leader Kofi Offeh and his 'tribe' is cleared up.

Kofi Offeh and Kaura Taylor of the so-called Kingdom of Kubala were taken away by authorities following a raid by police and immigration officers at about 8am yesterday.

It is understood that 36-year-old Offeh, the self-proclaimed King Atehene, and 21-year-old Taylor, who calls herself Asnat, were arrested on suspicion of immigration offences.

Jean Gasho, 43, who describes herself as Queen Nandi, was also seen in photos being taken away.

The group, who had been camping in woods outside Jedburgh, Roxburghshire, since May, recently moved to council-owned land there after being evicted from private land nearby.

On Wednesday, Selkirk Sheriff Court banned them from returning to their previous camp, while a court order issued last week banned them from council land in the area.
