JIMMY'S COOL HEAD KEY TO CUP SUCCESS
Scottish Daily Express
|April 17, 2025
PAUL HARTLEY believes Jimmy Thelin's ability to keep calm in the mayhem of Scottish football is a major strength.
It’s a quality that could be tested on Saturday, as the Swede leads Aberdeen into their Scottish Cup semi-final with Hearts.
Hartley recently had dinner with the Pittodrie boss and was impressed with him and how he has taken to Scottish football.
The former Dons midfielder said: “He enjoys Scottish football. He enjoys the battles, the intensity, every game is a battle sometimes.
“He’s definitely respected the game since he’s come over here.
“He’s very knowledgeable on the game, a very calm person.
“You don’t ever see him getting too flustered on the touchline, like Scottish managers jumping up and down and pointing the finger!
“That's just the way he is.”
Cove Rangers manager Hartley, inset, has built a decent rapport with the Dons boss, due to a number of loans between their teams and a likely cooperation agreement for next season.
