Sinner and Alcaraz setting a high benchmark for rest

JANNIK SINNER’S rivalry with Carlos Alcaraz threatens to dominate men’s tennis for the next decade.

And stars such as British No.1 Jack Draper face the challenge of raising their game to stop the two young superstars who have now won the past seven Grand Slam titles.

Sinner, the world No.1, admitted he has been driven to improve by the Spaniard, who secured a fifth successive win against the Italian in last month’s French Open final.

Only five weeks later in London, Sinner showed he had learnt from his French lesson to claim his first Wimbledon title in style with a four-set victory.

The question now is who can stop them establishing a new era of hegemony to follow the Big Three of Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal?
