It wasn't even a good ID at the time, Prime Minister
Scottish Daily Express

PRIME Minister Keir Starmer has done it! He has succeeded where many of us thought he never could.

WATCH OUT: Edmond O'Brian as Winston in the 1956 film adaption of 1984
This son of a toolmaker has managed to unite people across the United Kingdom’s fractured and much more interesting, political landscape under one banner, against all the odds.
It is an incredible achievement, Herculean in scale. Of course, they’re unified against him — but this is Sir Keir we’re talking about here, the biggest Labour disappointment since many hoped John Prescott would go the full 12 rounds with that guy who lobbed an egg at him.
The subject is that old New Labour favourite and political landmine, ID cards, in this case, the Ministry of Truth-sounding mandatory digital ID. It even comes with its own disputed portmanteau, “BritCard.”
This time round, the excuse being proffered up is that making all British people carry their digital papers will reduce illegal immigration.
Some may remember the last time this ugly little notion raised its head, we were given a salad of reasons including the prevention of identity theft and reducing bureaucracy. The lines given change, but the aim remains — these people simply really want ID cards.
The ranks of those who oppose the PM’s reheated attempt to build Airstrip One in 2025 are very interesting.
