ISAK BREAKS RECORD BUT IT’S HIT AND MISS

LIVERPOOL last night took their spending this summer to over £450million as they landed Alexander Isak but missed out on Marc Guehi on a dramatic deadline day.

The Reds finally brokered a British record £125m deal to land striker Isak from Newcastle.

But despite a deal sheet being submitted with the Premier League, a £35m move for Crystal Palace centre-back Guehi collapsed at the 11th hour.

Palace pulled the plug on Guehi’s move despite the defender undergoing a medical.

The South London club had lined up Brighton defender Igor Julio as Guehi’s replacement, but he opted to join West Ham on loan instead.
