Poulter & Son's Open dream would be the 'icing on cake'
IAN POULTER says the “icing on the cake” of his career would be to play in a Major tournament with his son, Luke.
The Ryder Cup legend, who turned 50 this month, dreams of one day ticking off the last sporting item on his bucket list.
Luke, 22, is at the University of Florida and is No. 14 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
With blond locks and a natural flair, Poulter Jr is a chip off the old block.
Ian's world ranking has plummeted outside the top 3,500 since joining LIV in 2022, meaning he has to earn a place at the Majors the hard way. The father-son duo attempted to qualify for last year's Open at Portrush, both missing the mark by three shots, but they aim to give it another go this summer for Birkdale.
