SIR BRADLEY WIGGINS has revealed his son was scared of finding him dead during the height of his cocaine addiction.

- By Fraser Watson

The 2012 Tour de France winner and five-time Olympic champion turned to drugs following his retirement in 2016, admitting to becoming a "functioning addict".

"There were times my son thought I was going to be found dead in the morning," Wiggins told The Observer.

"I was doing s***loads of cocaine. I had a really bad problem. My kids were going to put me in rehab. I was walking a tightrope."

Wiggins' struggles were compounded by financial issues. Having previously boasted a £13million fortune, a company controlled by Wiggins had debts totalling around £1m.
