Hero dad saved daughter after pigeon caused horror smash

A DOCTOR saved his daughter's life after a horror motorcycle crash caused by a pigeon.

Model Mercedes Valentine, 25, was struck by the bird in the face while riding her bike. She crashed and was flung into the air, suffering life-threatening injuries.

She had been out celebrating with her family that day with her dad, mum and sister following behind in a car. Mercedes, who has over 250,000 followers on Instagram, hit the road hard. Her injuries were so severe that she was at first presumed dead.

Her father, Chris, 60, a trauma doctor, made the decision to remove his daughter's helmet, which ultimately saved her life.

He then got to work tending her wounds to keep her alive.
