Fury as Labour 'scapegoats' civil servant over China spies

SIR Keir Starmer has defended the senior civil servant at the centre of the China spy row amid accusations Labour was scapegoating him.

It came after security minister Dan Jarvis disclosed that deputy national security adviser Matthew Collins had given three statements to the Crown Prosecution Service.

That provoked fury in Parliament, with critics of the Government accusing Labour of throwing Mr Collins “under the bus”.
