CELTIC last night snapped up attackers Junior Adamu and Joel Mvuka for the title push - after fending off a monster £25million bid for Arne Engels.

And Hoops chiefs were also working late to draft in Brentford centre-half Benjamin Arthur for the remainder of the campaign.

Celtic spent a frantic deadline day and it could chasing targets rumble on beyond the window with the club understood to be interested in a stunning bid to land free agent Alex OxladeChamberlain.

The 32-year-old, capped 35 times for England, has been without a club since leaving Besiktas last summer but has been training with his former club Arsenal.

Oxlade-Chamberlain can move outwith the window and there is significant interest from several clubs south of the border.

Adamu was confirmed earlier yesterday evening but Celts were made to sweat for Mvuka (below).
