Forget soggy bottoms...it's soggy cheeks for Mary at 90

DAME Mary Berry was reduced to tears by Prince William as he rose to the occasion and wished her a cake-filled 90th birthday yesterday.

The baking queen’s “priceless” reaction was broadcast on a special episode of BBC1’s The One Show, which was dedicated to her landmark.

William, 42, told her in a video message: “Hi Mary. I want to wish you a very happy 90th birthday. You are a true national treasure and we've loved working with you over the years. Have a fantastic day today.”

Then he quipped: “I dread to think who’s cooking your cake and the criticism they might get but, good luck, and I hope it goes really well.”

As she listened intently, Dame Mary was seen shedding happy tears and clapping her hands.
